The interview is one of the most important job-hunting stages. Being invited to talk means that your curriculum already stands out and now all you need to do to get your dream job is to impress the interviewer, showing why you’re the perfect candidate for the position.

What motivates you?

What the recruiter really wants to know by asking this question is whether your motivations are aligned with the company’s goals and your future role on them. Here are some possible answers:

What drives me to do my best each day is to collaborate and accomplish big goals as a part of a team.

I enjoy solving new challenges and thinking about solutions to complex situations.

I’m motivated by meaningful work and the possibility of changing people’s life.

Why did you leave your last job?

Unless you’re looking for your first job, this question will always come up. Here are some successful answers:

It’s been a great learning experience, but I’m ready to spread my wings and increase my responsibilities.

I loved my time at XXX and am really proud of the work I did there. However, I think the time has come for a change.

But what if leaving wasn’t your choice? Here’s a good answer:
